History

Pennywise Peripherals Pty Ltd was established over 40 years ago designing and manufacturing tape storage devices for storing computer programs. Additional devices were designed and manufactured including mini-computers, EPROM programmers, educational micro-processor based development boards and even bicycle data loggers!

In the early days Pennywise engineered and supplied fault logging equipment to telephone exchanges throughout Australia. This equipment was used to extend the life of Australia’s ageing analogue phone system and saw many years of reliable service.

Later Pennywise designed and manufactured a range of automation equipment for the cinema industry selling many thousands of units to cinemas throughout the world. Pennywise is one of the largest and best know cinema automation suppliers in the world.

Early on Pennywise became involved with the design and manufacture of product authentication equipment primarily for brand protection. Over the years Pennywise has invested considerably in this industry and continues to provide state of the art solutions.

Throughout the years Pennywise has been able to provide design and manufacturing services for varied niche markets with the skill and expertise to take the products from concept to manufacture.

Pennywise resides in its own factory in Melbourne Australia where it continues to manufacture its range of cinema automation and other specialised products.
